Programmes

Toddlers Program

Age Group: 2-3 years

This tender age group is welcomed with smaller versions of interesting preliminary Montessori activities. This addresses their independence, the coordination of their large motor movements and fine motor movements.

Pre-Primary Program

Age Group: 3-6 years

Here the Formative years of children are tendered with utmost care to serve their needs. A heart to heart bonding with the teachers kicks off the learning curve. One on one teaching assures custom made teaching.

Elementary Program

Age Group: 6-12 years

Children of this age group begin to carve their intellectual property. They prefer group/peer learning . The scientifically prepared Montessori materials take them to the very heights. The principle of cosmic education offers the entire universe to the seeking minds of the child.

Adolescent Program

Age Group: 12 years & above

The age of ‘Adults to be’. Also called the Erd kinder program that offers the Farm where children are growing their own crops, producing, selling and creating their own revenue for their community living.

Children get to lay their hands on the miniature activities set up especially for them. This is more appealing to children than any toys. It’s rather surprising to watch them drawn to it as if fish to water.

Earthlore follows the NCERT (National Council of Educational Research & Training) SYLLABUS STUDENTS ARE AT PAR WITH THE SOCIAL STANDARDS.

Adolescent Program

Adolescent Program is for the children of the age group of 12 – 15 years that is Grade 6 to 9 and Grade 10 . This is also called as the Erd Kinder Program – meaning “Earth Children”. Dr Montessori says – Connect the children to the earth and they have it all.

This Program nurtures children through Community living and they are involved in both Study and Work cycles. Each of these Study and Work cycles aligns to the generally followed School term .The study topics covered are in concurrence with the CBSE curriculum.

Every morning 1.5 hours is devoted to the Work cycle and the rest for Study and Co curricular.

Co curricular activities are Theatre, Dance , Music , Art and Sports

Being the first of its kind in India , the program facilitates curiosity driven academic learning , Real life skills, Critical thinking and problem solving, Socio emotional development , all the more to face failures and to build resilience

What does a Work cycle include ?

Students are engaged in various hands on activities of real work. Unlike the Pre primary and Elementary who will be working with the materials for specific concepts , the Adolescents will have Real Adult work to do like Cooking, Farming, Care of community, animal rearing etc. Why would they do all this ? The community is their responsibility.Their cycle begins with a community meeting, recognition of their needs and a midmapping session. The school hands over minimum facility and a seed fund to begin with. They will have to generate revenue for themselves for their food, projects and activities. They sell their produce in the market, they shop their required groceries themselves . Create the required network for the same. The work cycle instils in them all the required life skills , accountability ,a deep sense of belongingness and responsibility

What does a study cycle include?

This includes Subject studies of the CBSE syllabus- Literacy, Mathematics, Science and Social science. The study arises from the need of the work the adolescents are doing in the community. Examples are as follows - *Spoilage & Microorganisms is a topic they want to understand when the cooking team found a need for it. *Soils / Area/ Force etc are the topics arising from the Farm team *Accounts/Mathematical operations etc can arise from the Budget team The mode of learning does not limit to only classroom lectures but is also through Subject seminars Research work Self study This integrated learning with Study and Work cycles ends with Self- evaluation and Presentations by the Adolescents Sessions like Coffee houses are the means for their self expression.
